Good nutrition is fundamental to healthy development, wellbeing and the maintenance of a healthy weight. Importantly, eating a balanced diet can also protect against the development of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers. Better Health Resources have developed a suite of nutrition resources to assist children, adolescents and adults to improve their nutrition knowledge, quality and quantity of food eaten and eating habits. Importantly, Better Health Resources are interactive, engaging and flexible in their use. Most resources can be adapted for use with a range of target audiences, in a range of settings and to assist with different presenting problems, from general healthy eating education to specific weight management advice.

All Better Health nutrition resources are based on the best available evidence and relevant government guidance and recommendations, such as the NHMRC Australian Dietary Guidelines Incorporating the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and the NHMRC Management of Overweight and Obesity in Adults, Adolescents and Children; Clinical Practice Guidelines for Primary Care Health Professionals. Better Health Resources are updated as new evidence and guidelines become available to ensure the resources are relevant and based on the best available evidence. In addition, our experience of working with health professionals, communities and families has ensured that the resources are not only effective, but also practical and easy to use.
